01 / The Brief & The Problem

Worship lyrics in Hindi and English, readable on a phone in a dark church hall, from one trustworthy source.

In Gaurav's experience of these services, Hindi-speaking congregations sing from lyrics scattered across photocopies, chat forwards and inconsistent websites. Transliterations disagree, verses go missing, and he found nothing built for a phone screen held at arm's length during a service.

The app needed a large, calm reading surface, bilingual text, and a catalogue that publishes only checked lyrics. It now lists 2,800+ songs.

02 / Strategic Approach

Vandana is a Next.js application on React 19 with a cinematic dark interface, tuned for reading on a phone in a dim room. Typography and contrast were chosen for low light rather than for a marketing page, and the reader offers adjustable text size alongside the Hindi and Hinglish toggle.

Catalogue quality is enforced in the data layer. Songs imported in bulk stay behind a verification flag until they are triaged, a triage script re-runs after every import, and the catalogue is backed up before each launch, so published lyrics pass through the verification gate.

03 / The Output

04 / The Impact & What It Proves

The app is live and public.

Vandana is deployed at vandanaapp.vercel.app, where the interface, the bilingual lyrics and the reading experience can be checked directly.

It shows the same product discipline applied to a community rather than a commercial audience: a clear reading problem, a design answer for the real environment, and a data pipeline that protects quality as the catalogue grows.
